Susan Giosa is an award-winning stage actress. Born in Connecticut on November 23, 1963, she was raised in New York since the age of 2. Her love for acting and the craft started at a very young age, influenced by her mother, an actress who studied at The Actor's Studio in New York with Lee Strasberg.
Susan trained as a classical musician from the age of eight, entering college majoring in music but soon realizing her true passion was acting and theatre. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Queens College, City University of New York, with a degree in Drama/ Theater and a minor in Dance.
Ms. Giosa continued her education, receiving a Masters Degree in Drama-Theatre from the same university, with much of her graduate work done in England at RADA and LAMDA. She had the honor of performing at the Edinburgh International Festival and wrote her thesis, "Maureen Stapleton, The Life of an Actress", based on personal interviews with the actress.
Susan's professional career began to take off after studying with renowned acting teacher and coach, Larry Moss. She was cast as Emilia the Maid in "Tamara", which became Los Angeles' longest-running play, and won both the LA Drama Critic's Award and the Drama-Logue Award for her performance.
Susan has had a diverse and rewarding career, with numerous stage credits including originating roles, starring as "Bella" in "Lost in Yonkers", and performing at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, Italian-American and Spanish-American theaters in NYC. She has also appeared in over 30 television shows and films, including "Beverly Hills 90210", "Cold Case", "Reasonable Doubts", and "NYPD Blue".
In addition to her acting career, Susan is a professional dancer and has appeared in several TV dance credits, including a National Dodge commercial with Will Ferrell. She writes with her husband, Glenn Hirsch, and they've had series in development at HBO and Showtime.
Susan is presently working on writing her first acting book, Freeing Your Emotional Core, which includes her unique warm-up, emotional exercises, script analysis, and approach to acting.
