Syd Stewart is a multidisciplinary artist, whose creative endeavors span a broad spectrum, encompassing not only the realm of performance poetry, but also the disciplines of acting and writing. Her impressive body of work has garnered her numerous accolades, including victories in various poetry slams and competitions, which have ultimately led to her feature appearances in a range of esteemed platforms.

Stewart has had a distinguished career as a performer, taking the stage at numerous esteemed radio stations across the country, including the renowned WBLS and WBAI in New York, Hot 105.1 in Miami, and 103 Jams in Virginia.

She has also performed at various educational institutions, showcasing her talents at Medgar Evers College, Wiley College, BMCC, NYU, Adelphi University, Columbia University, CAM, Lehigh University, and Harlem Book Fair, further demonstrating her versatility as a performer.

In addition to her extensive work in radio and education, Stewart has also performed at a variety of cultural and artistic events, including Rush Arts/The Corridor Gallery, Atlanta's Black Expo, and The National Black Arts Festival, where she paid tribute to two iconic figures, Dr. Maya Angelou and Cicely Tyson.

Noted author and poet, Stewart, is currently engaged in the creative process of crafting her second book of prose and poetry, a literary endeavor that will be accompanied by a musical poetry album, a unique and innovative fusion of art forms.

In addition to her written works, Stewart has also had her pieces published in various esteemed literary journals and anthologies, including African Voices, Rolling Out, QBR Magazine, The Lasting Joy (1998),America at the Millennium (2000),Signifyin' Harlem (2002/2003),and Under a Quicksilver Moon.

Furthermore, Stewart has collaborated with renowned filmmaker F. Gary Gray, and is actively shopping her first feature-length screenplay and television pilot, showcasing her adaptability and range as a creative force.
