Thea Megan Trinidad is a renowned American professional wrestler, wrestling manager, and actress currently affiliated with the WWE, where she competes on the SmackDown brand under the ring name Zelina Vega. Prior to her tenure with WWE, Trinidad worked in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) as Rosita, as well as for various independent promotions under her real name.
In TNA, Trinidad was a one-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion alongside Sarita. Born on December 27, 1990, in Queens, New York, Trinidad is of Puerto Rican descent. Growing up, she was heavily influenced by professional wrestling, courtesy of her father Michael and younger brother Timothy, who would often watch matches together as a family.
Trinidad's childhood was marked by tragedy when her father was killed in the September 11 attacks. He was a telecom analyst for the firm Cantor Fitzgerald and was on the 103rd floor of the North Tower when it collapsed. Trinidad's mother, Monique Ferrer, shared her story and experiences on the day of the attacks with StoryCorps, which created a short cartoon titled Always a Family as a tribute to her late husband.
