Thure Frank Lindhardt was born on December 24, 1974, in the vibrant city of Copenhagen, Denmark. At the tender age of 12, he landed his first role as the mailman in the 1987 film "Negerkys og labre larver". Later that same year, he acted as a classmate in Bille August's critically acclaimed film "Pelle the Conqueror", which went on to win the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 1988.
In 1989, Lindhardt took on the lead role in the children's play adaptation of Michael Ende's "The Neverending Story" in Roskilde, Denmark. Although it was a children's play, it marked the beginning of his journey towards becoming a professional actor. After playing a few small roles, Lindhardt realized that he wanted to pursue a career in acting.
Lindhardt graduated from the prestigious Odense Theatre School in 1998 and was subsequently named the recipient of the Reumert Award for Best New Talent in 1999. He appeared in two TV productions in the year 2000, including the TV series "Denmarks Radios The Spider" and the Lars von Trier-produced family saga "Morten Korch - Ved stillebækken".
His breakthrough role came in 2000 when he played the part of Brian in Kaspar Rostrup's film "Her i nærheden", based on the novel by Martha Christensen. The film received rave reviews and was featured in the official selection at the 50th Berlin Film Festival, where Lindhardt was named Shooting Star. He then went on to play the lead role as an autistic boy suspected of murder in the film, receiving widespread critical acclaim for his performance.
In 2002, Lindhardt appeared in Shaky González's film "One Hell of a Christmas" and later that year, he got the offer to play Slim in the Ballerin brothers' modern film "Slim Slam Slum". Although the film did not perform well with young audiences and became a bottom-10 comedy film in Denmark, Lindhardt continued to impress with his performances.
In 2004, he starred in the German film "Love in Thoughts", which brought him to the public's attention. He then went on to play the role of Hans in the same film, receiving widespread critical acclaim for his performance.
Today, Lindhardt is considered one of the most critically acclaimed actors of his generation and has portrayed a wide range of characters throughout his career. One of his most notable roles is that of Steso, a weird junkie boy, in Ole Christian Madsen's fantastic film "Angels in Fast Motion" (2005).
