Tia Carrere, a talented actress born and raised in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii, was discovered in a grocery store and soon landed the female lead in the film Aloha Summer. This marked the beginning of her remarkable journey in the acting world, which saw her secure a series regular role on General Hospital and numerous guest starring roles on popular TV shows such as MacGyver, Quantum Leap, Married With Children, and Friday the 13th.
Her iconic breakthrough role as Cassandra in Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2 showcased her impressive singing and acting abilities, cementing her status as a talented performer. This success paved the way for her to take on a string of memorable roles, including the femme fatale Juno Skinner in James Cameron's film True Lies, opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger; the computer whiz Jingo Asakuma in Rising Sun opposite Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes; and the lead role of Sydney Fox in the TV series Relic Hunter.
Tia's extensive list of credits also includes appearances in Nip/Tuck, In Plain Sight, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and many more. She has also returned to her Hawaiian roots, starring in Disney's animated film Lilo & Stitch, and has been recognized for her musical talents, being nominated four times and winning the Grammy twice for her records 'ikena and Huana Ke Aloha. Additionally, she co-hosted and performed during the ceremony.
More recently, Tia has been seen in Michael Patrick King's series AJ & the Queen, starring alongside RuPaul, as well as in Amblin Films' "Easter Sunday" and Mindy Kaling's Never Have I Ever. Furthermore, she has released a single and video for a song she wrote, titled "I'm Still Here".
