Biography

Todd Hansen, a native of Pleasant Grove, Utah, had his sights set on becoming a football star, but a trio of knee surgeries in high school and a lack of growth during his freshman year led to a significant shift in his plans.

As the son of a mechanic, Todd's journey to higher education was a first-generation achievement. He began his television career as a nightly news anchor and reporter in Tri Cities, Washington, before relocating to Salt Lake City, Utah, to take on a weekend anchor and reporter role.

Throughout his career, Todd has always been drawn to human-interest stories, finding more value in sharing the experiences of everyday people rather than focusing on sensationalized news. This passion led him to create a weekly series where he would randomly knock on doors and invite individuals to share their stories, which ultimately became a huge success.

Despite the show's popularity, Todd left television, believing he had closed the door on his broadcasting career. However, a few years later, he discovered a local network seeking new programming ideas and seized the opportunity to pitch his concept for The Story Trek.

As host, writer, and executive producer, Todd has successfully led the show through 12 seasons, earning 13 Emmy awards in the Rocky Mountain region. His dedication to highlighting the worth and value of every individual is palpable through the stories he shares.

Todd's personal life is just as fulfilling, as he is married and proud father of four daughters.
