Tom's journey in the world of theater began during his time in the Army, where he was a member of the Special Forces theatre troop at Fort Bragg. As part of his duties, he traveled to Third Army service clubs, performing a diverse range of works, including those of Brecht, Ibsen, and Shakespeare.
Following his military service, Tom returned to his hometown of Buffalo, New York, where he taught acting at the Studio Arena Theatre School while simultaneously appearing in numerous productions at the same institution. His talent and dedication eventually led him to the bright lights of Broadway, where he has appeared in a variety of shows, including The Magic Show, Wonderful Town, My Favorite Year, Cuba and His Teddy Bear, and Happy End.
Tom's impressive resume also includes a plethora of Off-Broadway credits, with one of his most notable achievements being his work on Ruined at The Manhattan Theatre Club, which won a Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Beyond his work as an actor, Tom is also a talented playwright and novelist. His debut play, Saved From Obscurity, received a nomination for a Drama Desk award after its production at Playwrights Horizons in New York City. Additionally, his play Subfertile, also produced at Playwrights Horizons, was optioned as a feature film.
