Tony Wash, a native of the Chicagoland area, has spent most of his life in the region. His journey in the film industry began in 2005, when he was still a student at Tom Savini's FX school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During his final semester, Wash started production on his choose your own adventure horror feature, It's My Party and I'll Die If I Want To.
The film received widespread acclaim upon its release, earning numerous festival awards and rave reviews from both critics and fans. This success solidified Wash's reputation as a reliable source for quality independent horror, and his company, Scotchworthy Productions, became known for its high-end production values and award-winning practical special effects.
Over the years, Wash has worked with a range of notable actors, including Sid Haig, Shenae Grimes-Beech, Izabella Miko, Rachel Melvin, Tom Savini, and Joe Nunez. His work has been distributed globally by companies such as Sony Home Entertainment, and he has produced several features, including 2020's The Stylist, 2022's Black Mold, and Sin Eater.
In addition to his work in feature films, Wash co-created the web series World of Death for Bloody-Disgusting.com and serves as the short film curator for the popular horror website. In 2020, Bloody Disgusting partnered with Scotchworthy Productions to launch the original series Bloody Bites on their AVOD channel BD TV. The show provides a platform for independent horror filmmakers to gain worldwide exposure through the #1 source for online horror, and it has become one of the highest-rated content on the channel.
With a diverse range of credits, including the 2014 SXSW Midnight favorite, The Muck, Wash is eager to return to the set and create his next fear-inducing shocker.
