Tory Belleci, a renowned daredevil and master builder, gained widespread recognition for his exceptional skills on the popular TV show 'Mythbusters'. He is also the host of several hit shows, including 'Pumpkin' Chunkin', 'The Explosion Show', and 'White Rabbit Project' on Netflix, as well as 'Thrill Factor' on Travel Channel. Tory has made numerous appearances on 'The Rachel Ray Show', 'The Late Show with Craig Ferguson', 'Iron Chef', and 'Hell's Kitchen', showcasing his expertise as a science entertainer and celebrity judge.
Prior to his television career, Tory worked in the special effects industry, starting in 1994 after graduating from San Francisco State University's film school. For nearly a decade, he worked as a model maker, sculptor, and painter at Industrial Light and Magic, contributing to iconic films such as the Star Wars prequels, Starship Troopers, Galaxy Quest, Terminator 3, The Matrix 2 & 3, and Van Helsing. His impressive portfolio includes the construction of pod racers and The Federation battleship.
In 2003, Tory joined the production team of Discovery Channel's 'Mythbusters', eventually becoming a part of the show's build team in the second season and receiving on-screen credits by season three. He played a crucial role in convincing fellow Industrial Light and Magic veteran Grant Imahara to join the show, alongside Kari Byron, forming a formidable build team with Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman. 'Mythbusters' went on to become the most successful and longest-running pop-science show in television history.
In addition to his television work, Tory has also ventured into film direction and writing, creating several short films, including 'Sand Trooper', which premiered at the Slamdance Film Festival and aired on SyFy Channel.
