Tricia Lee is a highly accomplished AAPI female filmmaker, renowned for her exceptional ability to craft heart-warming and heart-breaking stories that are elevated by uplifting humor. Her impressive body of work has garnered recognition on the prestigious Black List, specifically in 2020 with GOOD CHANCE, 2021 with IDOL, and 2023 with AMERICAN DREAMS.
As a fellow of the SONY Diverse TV Writers Program, Tricia brings a unique Canadian perspective to her storytelling, exploring themes of belonging, voicelessness, and shared humanity through the lens of the American Dream. Her feature script, GOOD CHANCE, has received widespread critical acclaim, including being a top 50 finalist in The Academy Nicholl Fellowship, winning the grand prize in Francis Ford Coppola's Zoetrope Screenplay Competition, and being selected for the prestigious Producers Guild of America Power of Diversity Master Workshop and The Writers Lab, supported by Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman.
In addition to her writing prowess, Tricia is an accomplished commercial director, having worked with a diverse range of talented individuals, including Eva Longoria, Simu Liu, Ingrid Rogers, and James Kyson. She has also written a pilot for and will serve as showrunner for the animated anthology A BANQUET FOR HUNGRY GHOSTS, produced by 108 Media.
Tricia's impressive directing credits include three award-winning feature films: BLOOD HUNTERS, which was sold to Hulu and presented in Cannes by Frontieres; and SILENT RETREAT, which was theatrically released across Canada and sold to NBC Universal's Chiller Network.
