Urmila Matondkar, the daughter of a lecturer, began her acting career as a child artist in the film "Kalyug" (1980). She received critical acclaim for her performance in "Masoom" (1983),a film about a family coping with an illegitimate member.
Urmila then made her debut as an adult actress in "Narasimha" (1991) opposite Sunny Deol. She went on to appear in several films, including "Chamatkar" (1992),"Shreemaan Aashique" (1993),"Drohi" (1992),and "Rangeela" (1995),which revolutionized sensuality on the Indian screen.
Urmila has also demonstrated her acting talent and skill in films like "Satya" (1998),"Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya..." (2001),"Om Jai Jagadish" (2002),"Pinjar" (2003),"I Did Not Kill Gandhi" (2005),and "Banaras" (2006).
As of 2006, Urmila has acquired several assignments, both using her talents as an actress and as a seductress. She is married to actor-model-businessman Mohsin Akhtar, whom she married in a small private ceremony on March 3, 2016.
Today, Urmila is known as one of Bollywood's most versatile actresses, having played a wide range of characters next to fellow actresses Tabu and Mahima Chaudhry, after Sridevi.
