ValenZia Algarin, a talented actress of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent, hails from the charming town of Peabody, just outside of Boston, Massachusetts. Born to Carlos Algarin and Mercedes Algarin, Valenzia's passion for acting began on stage and eventually transitioned into the film industry.
With a diverse range of stage credits to her name, including one-woman shows, "The Piano Lesson," "Laundry & Bourbon," "Biloxi Blues," and "A Hat Full of Rain," Valenzia's impressive repertoire also includes television appearances on popular shows such as HBO's "True Blood," Adult Swim's "Black Jesus," TNT's "SouthLand," CBS's "Cold Case," TV One's "Love That Girl," and Comedy Central's "Mind of Mencia."
Valenzia's documentary comedy, "The Journey of A Female Comic," made waves across the country, showcasing her talent and dedication to representing the youth of Latin America. She is committed to taking on challenging roles in films that are characterized as raw and real, and has received accolades for her powerful performance in the film "Hard Silence (Silencio Fuerte)" as Karla, a young girl who is physically, mentally, and sexually abused by her mother.
In addition to her acting career, Valenzia is a spoken word artist who has collaborated with singer/songwriter/producer Margo Thunder on her latest CD, "R&B 101," and has started her own music venture. She is also an advocate for children and has founded her own non-profit organization, "It All Starts With A Dream," which aims to mentor and inspire youth to reach their goals.
