Born in the Dominican Republic, but raised in New York, this talented individual started her journey in the world of performing arts at the tender age of seven, gracing the stages of Off-Broadway plays with the Harlem Children's Theatre.
She continued to hone her craft, being accepted into the prestigious New York City High School of the Performing Arts, where she further developed her skills in musical theater.
Before making it big, Vergi had the opportunity to work with renowned artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Shaggy, and Prince, appearing in their music videos and touring with them.
Her breakthrough role came when she was cast in Disney's The Hot Chick (2002),followed by a stint on MTV's "Scratch & Burn" (2002).
Vergi then went on to work behind the scenes, serving as an assistant choreographer on Universal's Honey (2003) for Jessica Alba, and receiving her first feature film choreography credit in MGM's release Soul Plane (2004).
In addition to her acting career, Vergi took sketch writing classes, focusing on refining her improvisational skills, and trained at the renowned Upright Citizens Brigade.
Her impressive resume continued to grow, with appearances in Tru Tv's "Laff Tracks" in January 2018, and Jim Carrey's Showtime show "I'm Dying Up Here" in June 2019, where she played the role of Adella opposite Ari Graynor.
Vergi also showcased her versatility by writing, directing, and starring as the lead character "Lily Cruz" in her short film "Dreamer," which tells the poignant story of DACA recipients in the United States.
The film has since been an official selection at over 70 film festivals, including the Boston Latino Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award, the New York Latino Film Festival, Geena Davis' Bentonville Film Festival, and the Diversity in Cannes showcase during the Festival De Cannes.
