Person Biography:
Vincent Lyn is a renowned martial artist, actor, musician, and humanitarian. Born to a Chinese father and British mother, he was raised in various countries, including Aden, Yemen, Ethiopia, Sudan, Algeria, the Netherlands, and England. At the age of 16, he emigrated to the United States and later moved to Hong Kong after completing his university studies.
Martial Arts:
Vincent started studying martial arts at the age of 8 and learned Tai Chi from his uncle. He later mastered his family style, Ling Gar Kung Fu, and became a 10th-degree Black Sash Grandmaster. He has taught martial arts workshops around the world and has been invited to perform at various events, including the Martial Arts Olympics East-West Open in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Acting:
Vincent has had a successful acting career, starring in over 25 movies, including "Tiger Cage" and "Operation Condor." He has worked with internationally acclaimed directors, such as Yuen Woo Ping, and has been awarded the Fists of Legends "Hong Kong Legends Cinema Award" at the Urban Action Showcase Expo in New York.
Music:
Vincent is also a talented musician, having studied piano at the age of 11. He graduated from the prestigious Boston Conservatory of Music and has released several jazz albums, including "Heaven Bound" and "Wing Sing." His music has received critical acclaim, with his CD "Vincent Lyn Live in New York City" winning 5-star reviews and being ranked #12 on the World Jazz Charts.
Social Justice:
Vincent is the Director of Creative Development for African Views, an NGO charitable organization that aims to bridge cultural gaps and promote global partnerships for the advancement of the humanities. He has presented his "on the ground" observations and research to African Views and has been involved in various projects, including cultural exchange programs and panel discussions.
Humanitarian:
Vincent has been involved in various humanitarian efforts, including rescuing and recovering children from slavery and poverty in Africa and the Middle East. He is the founder of the nonprofit organization We Can Save Children, which provides aid to children in need and offers them access to education and vocational skills. He has also been recognized for his work, being voted the 'Top 100 Human Rights Defenders' by the IHRC International Human Rights Commission in 2019.
Recent Projects:
Vincent has been involved in several recent projects, including a humanitarian aid and rescue mission in Ukraine, partnering with two NGO's in Latvia and Ukraine to bring medical supplies and rescue families. He has also spoken at the Houses of Parliament in London on the atrocities committed against the civilian population of Ukraine and will be returning to Ukraine in the spring of 2023 on another humanitarian mission.
