Wayne was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he developed a passion for acting from a young age. As a child, he was often seen dressed in formal attire, but by the age of nine, he had transitioned to a more casual sports coat and slacks.
After attending Studio 58 Theatre School, Wayne began working professionally as an actor, quickly gaining recognition for his talents. He won The DuMarier Search for the Stars with a stunning performance of "You Made Me Love You," featuring a portrait of Clark Gable.
Over the next decade, Wayne dedicated himself to theatre and television, performing in a wide range of productions across Canada and internationally. He appeared in live shows, Shakespearean plays, musicals, murder mysteries, and children's theatre, as well as working with the Canadian improvisational company TheatreSports.
Wayne's film credits include working with Michael Crichton and Tom Selleck on the feature "Runaway" and guest-starring alongside Mickey Rooney in TV's "The Adventures of the Black Stallion." He also served as the spokesman for the B.C. Lottery and The Keg Restaurant chain.
In 1991, Wayne made the bold move to Los Angeles, where he immediately began working in commercials and television. Early on, he landed the dual role of the father/interplanetary dog in the children's show "A.J.'s Time Travelers," which ran for 40 episodes and featured guest stars such as Jeff Foxworthy, Carol Kane, Fred Willard, and Sandra Bernhard.
Wayne has made over 150 commercials for various brands, including Gateway, Lowe's, Denny's, and Pepto-Bismol. He has also hosted the 26-part series "Mastering the College Experience" for KOCE-TV, which is still airing today.
Recently, Wayne joined the theatre company Theatre 40, where he originated the role of Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle in the critically acclaimed play "Roar of the Crowd." He is a true aficionado of the silent film era and has a deep appreciation for the works of Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Laurel and Hardy, and Buster Keaton.
Wayne is a series regular on the hit show "Wingin' It" and the new Showcase comedy "Single White Spenny" with David Steinberg as an executive producer. He has also appeared on "Two and a Half Men," "Boston Legal," "The West Wing," "Drake and Josh," "Becker," "CSI," "Star Trek Voyager," and "X-Files."
In addition to his acting career, Wayne is a devoted family man, married to his wife Bebe, with whom he has two beautiful daughters, a big dog named Martha, three cats, and a well-stocked fish tank. He enjoys gardening, reading, and attempting to fix everything around the house.
