Will Sasso was born in Ladner, British Columbia, a suburb of Vancouver, to a family of Italian descent. His early life was marked by an unhealthy relationship with the family television, which began when he was around two or three years old. This exposure to comedy at such a young age had a profound impact on his development, and he soon decided to pursue a career in acting.
At the age of fifteen, Sasso landed his first agent and began booking roles in television and film. Prior to relocating to Los Angeles, he starred for five seasons as the quirky teen, Derek Wakaluk, on the award-winning Canadian dramatic series Madison. This experience allowed him to hone his acting and improvisational skills, while also providing him with a steady income to support his own television viewing habits.
Sasso's breakthrough in the United States came when he starred for five seasons on FOX's hit sketch comedy series Mad TV. During his tenure on the show, which began in 1997, he became known for his characters, including the accident-prone handyman Paul Timberman, and his impressions of notable figures such as Bill Clinton, Kenny Rogers, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Seagal, and Randy Newman. After a successful run, Sasso left the show in 2002, eager to explore new opportunities.
In addition to his television work, Sasso has appeared in over twenty-five feature films, including Best in Show, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Beverly Hills Ninja, and The Hot Chick. He has also worked with notable directors and producers, such as Christopher Guest, Adam Sandler, and Rob Schneider.
More recently, Sasso has been seen every week as Carl Monari on the ABC sitcom Less Than Perfect.
