Person Biography:
William John Joseph Eythe was born on April 7, 1918, in a small dairy town near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to a contractor father. He developed an early interest in theatrics after appearing in an elementary school play and went on to attend the School of Drama at Carnegie Tech, where he initially focused on set design and costuming due to a stammering problem. He graduated from college in 1941 and began leaning towards a professional music theater, involving himself in musicals and revues in the Pittsburgh area and other states.
