William Grannel, a talented actor, was born on March 30, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York. He is arguably most renowned for his charming and affable portrayal of Jason Varone, the likable private investigator superior to Cheri Caffaro's character, in the notorious 1970s exploitation film series, "Ginger".
In addition to his film work, Grannel also had a small but memorable role as a meek and henpecked husband in the low-budget horror film, "Carnival of Blood", which was widely panned for its poor quality. He also appeared in the soft-core features "The Love Object" and "Women Women Women Moira".
Grannel's stage career was just as impressive, with roles in Off-Broadway plays such as "Pets" and "Good Woman of Setzuan". He served as an understudy for the 1969 Broadway production of "Fire!" and was a featured cast member in a late 1960s Broadway production of the comedy play "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern".
Sadly, William Grannel passed away on January 23, 1986, in San Francisco, California, leaving behind a legacy of his work in the entertainment industry.
