Yoon Joo, a talented South Korean actress, boasts an impressive background in martial arts, having held the rank of 3rd Dan taekwondo player until her middle school years, when an injury forced her to abandon her sport training.
Undeterred, Yoon redirected her energy towards the world of acting, enrolling in Anyang Arts High School to hone her craft. Following her graduation, she went on to earn a degree in acting from Suwon Women's University.
Yoon's professional journey began with a role in the 2010 theater play "Catch him", which led to her introduction to the audition for the movie "Bad Blood". She landed the main role in the film, released in 2012, after a two-year delay. During this period, Yoon struggled to make ends meet, taking on various part-time jobs, including serving at a coffee shop, to support herself and move out of her parents' house, who initially disapproved of her career choice.
Despite the challenges, Yoon's performance in "Bad Blood" received widespread acclaim, with the Seoul Shinmun praising her "strong acting" and "shocking and complex character portrayal", which earned her attention from critics and audiences alike. Fashion magazine Arena Homme + subsequently named Yoon as the 2013 promising rookie actress, solidifying her status as a rising star in the South Korean entertainment industry.
