Zdeněk Troška, a renowned Czech director, was born on May 18, 1953, in Strakonice, Czech Republic. Growing up in Hoštice u Volyně, South Bohemia, he would later become a prominent figure in the Czech film industry, often featuring in his own productions.
Troška's educational background is marked by his attendance at the prestigious Lycée Carnot in Dijon, France, where he laid the foundation for his future career in filmmaking. He went on to study film and television directing at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, graduating in 1978.
