Biography

Zhanna Bolotova is a renowned Soviet film actress who rose to fame during the 1970s and early 1980s, captivating audiences with her remarkable talent.

Throughout her illustrious career, Bolotova received numerous prestigious accolades, including the USSR State Prize in 1977 and the esteemed title of People's Artist of Russia in 1985.

Her journey in the film industry began early, as she made her screen debut while still in school, starring in Lev Kulidzhanov and Yakov Segel's "The House That I Live In".

After completing her education at the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, where she was mentored by the esteemed Sergei Gerasimov and Tatyana Makarova, Bolotova joined the Cinema Actor Studio Theatre.

In 1969, she received her first international award, taking home the prize for Best Female Role at the Varna Red Cross film festival for her outstanding performance in "24-24 Does Not Return".

Bolotova's impressive talent was recognized once more at the Triest Film Festival, where she earned the award for Best Female Role for her role in "The Silence of Dr. Evens" (1974).
