Mike Enslin, a paranormal investigator, receives an anonymous warning not to stay in room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel in New York City. Despite the hotel's reluctance, Enslin becomes determined to investigate the room, which has a history of strange deaths dating back to its opening 95 years ago. As he delves deeper into the mystery, he soon finds himself desperate to escape the room, which seems to be consumed by an evil force.
