Famed murder mystery writer Agatha Christie disappears for 11 days in 1926, leaving behind her damaged car and expensive fur coat. Authorities suspect suicide, but her husband, Col. Archibald Christie, claims she's still alive, hiding his own desire to divorce her for his secretary, Nancy Neele. Meanwhile, American columnist Wally Stanton tracks Christie to a Harrogate resort spa, where she's living under an assumed name. Stanton's goal is to uncover her motives and protect her reputation, but his own motives soon become more complex.
