In 1947, as the British prepare to leave India, the Anglo-Indian community faces uncertainty about their future. She witnesses a shocking act of violence by British soldiers against Indian protesters and begins to question her allegiances. Meanwhile, she harbors a dark secret: her involvement in the murder of a British officer and her knowledge of a terrorist plot to disrupt the railways.
