On his final day of work, a chief Immigration officer at JFK airport, Marshall, detains a group of Latin Americans and subjects them to humiliating situations, fueled by his prejudice. The consequences of his actions are devastating, resulting in the death of a young Brazilian. After serving time in prison, Marshall travels to Brazil, wracked with guilt and illness, seeking redemption. He finds guidance in Bia, a young prostitute, as he navigates his journey of atonement.
