In the newly merged Kasdan Cresswell Academy, two music directors, Diana and Ken, are vying for the top spot as the school's music director. To determine who will keep their job, they are entered into a TV-sponsored Christmas carol contest, singing as duos with their students. The four students, each with their own unique personalities, must work together despite their differences to win the contest. Meanwhile, Diana and Ken are struggling with their own personal issues, including their lack of social lives, and their constant arguments make it difficult for them to avoid each other.
