On prom night, the students of Hoover High embark on a memorable adventure. Shelley, a popular girl, skips the event and spends the night with Dan, an unpopular student. Meanwhile, Kevin, a popular boy, dates Angela, a nerdy girl, after hearing she's easy. Patrice blames her boyfriend Roger for everything that goes wrong. The adults face their own challenges: Nancy and Larry must decide whether to reconcile or divorce, while Jack searches for his son Dan to understand his decision not to attend prom.
