A middle-aged woman finds new love and companionship with the son of her first love at a lake that holds special memories, rediscovering romance after being abandoned by her husband after 25 years of marriage.

Maggie Webber, an English literature teacher, discovers her husband's infidelity and decides to take a sabbatical to buy and reopen the old dance hall, The Harvest Moon, at Little Bear Lake, where she had a memorable summer at 18. She meets her first love, Patrick Fleming's son, John, who is engaged to Amy and working on the dance hall's restoration. As they grow closer, Maggie's past and her feelings for John begin to resurface, making her question her future.
