A young boy, Peter, struggles with demonic possessions and is institutionalized after setting fires. He escapes and embarks on a journey by freight train to northern British Columbia, where he meets a wise native shaman who tries to help him overcome his inner turmoil. Despite the shaman's efforts, Peter's problems persist, and he is eventually recaptured by the police and returned to the institution, where his condition worsens.
