In 1886, Deputy U.S. Marshal Jim Burke tracks down four bank robbers in Flagstaff, Arizona, capturing one, Manuel Jackson, when his horse becomes lame. Three years later, Manuel is shot while attempting a prison break and reveals that his sister, Raquel, in Prescott, knows the identities of his partners. Burke contacts Raquel, who agrees to help him catch the outlaws, but instead tries to blackmail them and double-crosses Burke.
