A group of five survivors, including a pregnant woman, a poet, a black man, a banker, and an Alpinist, are left on Earth after a nuclear explosion wipes out humanity. They find themselves in a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house on a California mountaintop, where they must confront their own personal demons and the symbolism of their new surroundings.
