People often struggle with the blurred lines between friendship and romance, known as the "Friend Zone". Palm, a man stuck in this limbo for 10 years, has been friends with Gink since high school. After his confession was rejected, they remained close, with Gink serving as his confidant through his numerous breakups. However, Gink's relationship with her boyfriend Ted becomes increasingly strained, and Palm's excessive kindness towards her creates tension. When Gink suddenly asks Palm if they could be a couple, Palm sees an opportunity to cross the borderline, but risks losing their friendship forever.
