Stan Meijer, a good boy from a dull provincial town in the Catholic Dutch South, feels neglected by his mother and abandoned by his biological father. He turns to a life of crime with his friends Maikel and Sef, getting arrested and released as an unlikely suspect. After a botched hold-up, they're recruited by a Turkish crime boss's gang to settle a score in a gang war.
