A former symphony violinist turned country bassist, Graham embarks on a tour through British Columbia's interior with a new band, led by Frank Hay. Initially struggling to adapt, Graham discovers the talent of Debbie, Frank's daughter and a backup singer, and convinces Frank to give her more stage time. As Debbie's role in the band grows, so do tensions between Graham, Debbie, Frank, and his girlfriend Jane, due to perceived romantic involvement between Graham and Debbie.
