Rod Kimble, a slacker, lives with his family and yearns for his stepfather's respect. He idolizes his late father, who he believes was Evel Knievel's backup. Rod believes he's a stuntman and sets out to set a school-bus-jumping record on his moped to pay for his stepfather's operation.
