Johnny One-Eye background

Johnny One-Eye

A former gangster, severely injured and seeking solace, forms an unlikely bond with a young girl and her remarkable dog, while secretly planning a vengeful strike against his merciless and cruel former associate.

Martin Martin, a powerful racketeer, narrowly escapes arrest for a murder committed five years earlier. He tracks down his former partner Dane Cory, who has made a deal with the District Attorney to save himself. After a confrontation, Cory's henchman is killed, and Cory hides in the apartment of his girlfriend, burlesque queen Lily White, with her six-year-old daughter Elsie and her dog Skipper. Martin seeks refuge in an abandoned building next door, where he finds shelter with the dog, whom he names Johnny One-Eye. As Martin tries to evade capture, he forms a bond with Elsie and Johnny One-Eye, and eventually exposes himself to a fatal wound to save Elsie from Cory's gunfire.
