David Balfour, a young boy, inherits a Scottish estate, but his uncle attempts to kill him and sell him as a slave. David forms a bond with Alan Breck, a Scottish rebel, and together they escape the ship's captain's plan to murder Breck for his wealth. They reach land and flee to Edinburgh, evading the ruthless Redcoats.
