Edmond Vidal, aka Momon, grew up in a poor gypsy camp, retaining a sense of family, loyalty, and pride in his origins. He remained close friends with Serge Suttel, with whom he discovered prison life after stealing cherries. They formed the Gang Des Lyonnais, becoming notorious armed robbers in the early 1970s. Their rise ended in 1974 with a spectacular arrest. Now, nearing 60, Momon wants to forget his past and has found peace by retiring from a life of crime. He tends to his wife, children, and grandchildren, who respect him for his simple and universal values. However, Serge Suttel, who has not disowned his past, reenters the picture.
