A driver named Jeremy Stanton becomes lost in the desert while traveling to meet his family, after relying on outdated maps. As he tries to find his way, he calls a Road-Aid operator named Judy for directions. Unbeknownst to Jeremy, the police are hot on the trail of bank robbers who are hiding in the area. When Jeremy's car runs out of gas, he stops at a remote gas station that only accepts cash, revealing his true reason for being on the road.
