Shanku, a determined orphan, lives with her uncle in a slum and dreams of marrying a millionaire. When she overhears Naren, the son of industrialist Laxmikant Kuber, express his desire to marry a young widow, Shanku seizes the opportunity. With the help of a friend, she poses as a young widow named Saudamini and enters the Kuber residence. As she wins over the hearts of Naren and his mother, Naren falls in love with her and Mr. Kuber asks for her late husband's photo. With more theatrical antics, Shanku shows a fake photo of a military Captain and tells his name as Bajirao Rangade, setting off a chain of events that threatens to expose her true identity.
