A nostalgic reunion film featuring the beloved characters from The Andy Griffith Show, where Andy Taylor returns to Mayberry and considers running for Sheriff once more. However, he's surprised to find his old friend and deputy, Barney Fife, also vying for the position. Andy ultimately decides to step aside, and instead helps Barney investigate the strange occurrences plaguing the town. Meanwhile, Barney prepares to propose to his long-time love, Thelma Lou, and Andy's son Opie is on the cusp of becoming a father.
