Chance Wayne, a struggling actor, returns to his hometown after years of chasing Hollywood dreams, accompanied by a fading film star, Alexandra Del Lago. As he tries to secure her help for a screen test, he reconnects with his former flame, Heavenly, the daughter of powerful politician Tom 'Boss' Finley, who played a significant role in Chance's departure from the town many years prior.
