In ancient Mexico, the God of the Hills, Valleys, and Streams, Colina, disguises himself as a hunter and falls deeply in love with Mapoli, the village's most beautiful maiden, who is already betrothed to Nezati. When Mapoli rejects Colina's advances, he unleashes his wrath on the village by causing a volcano to erupt, but is subsequently punished by the God of Creation and imprisoned in the volcano.
