An Episcopal Bishop, Henry Brougham, struggles to balance his work on a new cathedral with his family life. His plans rely heavily on a wealthy widow's funding, but she remains stubbornly uncommitted. Amidst the chaos, an angel named Dudley appears, seemingly sent to help Henry. However, Dudley's methods often cause more problems than solutions, leading Henry to fear he's being replaced at work and in his family's affections as Christmas approaches.
