In feudal Japan, a cunning Shogunate Elder plots to seize power by manipulating his puppet, Tsunashige, the brother of the current Shogun, into taking the throne. However, a brilliant strategist named Yamaga and his group of conspirators attempt to thwart the Elder's plans, but their efforts are met with betrayal and brutal capture.
