In rural Ireland, 1920, Anglo-Irish twins Rachel and Edward live in a crumbling estate where a malevolent presence, The Lodgers, enforces strict rules. The twins' world is turned upside down when a troubled war veteran, Sean, arrives in the village and becomes obsessed with Rachel, who starts to defy the rules. As the consequences unfold, Rachel finds herself in a deadly battle with her brother and the curse that haunts them.
