Eugene Simon is a British actor born in London on June 11th, 1992. He has been playing the series regular role of Lancel Lannister on HBO's 'Game of Thrones' for six seasons, alongside his lead role in Nickelodeon's 'House of Anubis' for three seasons.
Eugene began his career in theatre at the age of eight, joining child agency Abacus and landing the role of Archie in James Joyce's 'Exiles'. His childhood love for reciting poems from Roald Dahl's 'Dirty Beasts' sparked his interest in acting.
At the age of twelve, Eugene played the younger self to Heath Ledger's 'Casanova', and at thirteen, he performed the lead role as Gerald Durrell in the BBC's TV-film adaptation of 'My Family and Other Animals'. Throughout his years at Downside School, Eugene worked in numerous commercials, including his notable role as Young Ben Hur in Drimtim Entertainment's 'Ben Hur'.
After filming, Eugene began modeling through UK agency Models 1 and continues to do so. On his 18th birthday, he was offered both his roles in 'Game of Thrones' and 'House of Anubis'. Between filming the two shows, Eugene debuted as a lead American character in his first US films: 'Before I Sleep' as fictional poet Eugene Devlin alongside 'Harry Potter' co-star Bonnie Wright, and 'Eden' as US soccer player Kennefick.
Eugene resides between London and Los Angeles throughout the year. Known trivia about Eugene includes his love of languages, speaking French and Spanish from his father, who speaks Russian and Portuguese. He is the middle child of an older brother and a younger sister, the only actor in the family.
The name Eugene was given to him in homage to his great-grandfather Eugene Barry Walsh, as a nod to his Irish ancestry. Eugene's training includes sword-fighting, horse-riding, and charioteering. In his free time, he enjoys impersonation, mimicry, and voice-over work, which he says are the reasons he got into acting.
