Laura Partridge, a small stockholder of International Projects, attends a meeting to question the board of directors about their salaries and operations. However, her enthusiastic and honest nature catches the attention of CEO Edward McKeever, who has resigned to work at the Pentagon. As Edward returns to Washington D.C., he is replaced by corrupt executives John Blessington and Clifford Snell, who use their influence to line their pockets. Meanwhile, Laura becomes a thorn in the side of the board, and they try to silence her by offering her a high-paying job with the company. But Laura has other plans, using her position to correspond with other small stockholders and ultimately work to get Edward back in charge.
