A young woman, Zelda, and her 12-year-old daughter, Perdita, live on a small Scottish island. After Zelda's husband goes missing at sea, she believes he's never coming back and takes her own life. When lobsters disappear, the islanders blame Zelda, thinking she's cursed the sea for her husband's death.
