In this thrilling movie, Allen is sentenced to death for a murder he's convinced he didn't commit. Through a series of flashbacks, the audience is taken back to Allen's life as a riveter, where he worked alongside Clark. As Allen's fortunes improve, he meets Shirley and they get married. However, their happiness is short-lived, as Clark reveals to Allen that Shirley is having an affair. The confrontation ends in tragedy, with Clark's death, but later revelations confirm that Clark was telling the truth all along.
